Competition

There may be one woman behind every successful man but certainly there were many in Competition with that successful man – He was never lonely 😊.

The world might be turning flat but Competition is only whirling up to engulf you in more ways than before . The human race has somehow defeated all living species when it comes to reproduce a similar one like them , even after having the longest biological TAT of 6500 hours in the process of 9 months- We jolly well manage to contribute” A Game Changer” entity- every fourth second to the existing competition brewery of this world. In fact the only pressure which the mushrooming population puts on any form of life on this planet is that of geometric regression of opportunities and resources. . Since the time evolution, if change is the only constant – Competition is the only variable – increasing silently !!

Our Childhood was like a beautiful painting full of earthiness , precious little joys of sugarcane juice, black churan from outside our schools or hand pump drawn water after a daylong tiring cricket matches but we only bookmark our childhood till the time there was no race to come first .What appeared as mammoth as quarterly’s or half yearly’s were just practice sessions for life skill called Competition in future. Some of us enjoyed the scholarly flavor of examinations – some of us accepted, many of us just kept rolling in and out as a mediocre and finally the residuals like us got rejected, only to choose another fighting ring for another concealed competition. Competition never lets you rest- it is omnipresent and only visible when you are in the ring !!

From the very first day – when we were told to come 1st in Class to this very day when are told to be first in everything like a Marvel super hero to be eligible for the best pay hike -It has been an endless chase. The demon of Competition keeps transforming from one form and shape to another . The teenage was marred by one flummoxed question– Doctor or Engineer? All the guests and neighbors had more stories to tell my parents about these two professions than my class teachers . By the time I realised the difference between infatuation and love affair I was further intrigued to make a choice – Biology or Mathematics? With limited risk assessment of competition in both – Maths became my love affair and then the ultimate quest was nothing less than the IITs- though it came with a caveat of toughest competition but youth has its own way of making choices. The cosmic chakra of Competition kept spinning thereafter too .

So in all, there is a steaming factory called Competition and we all are a product of this invisible set up–It runs 24X7 and needs no geo boundaries, has ample manpower deployed. It makes sure that none of us are left uncatered that too , everyday. It is a bigger Goliath than global warming. Some of us are a totally finished product in the first go from this plant , some of us are a by-product of repeated efforts and rest of us are a waste products – Nothing to let anyone down here but we all have faced such life turning situations where we have failed -only to find a better challenge worth fighting for. It has a flexi democracy to keep you going. If one competition does not let you through, chose another one – same land or abroad !

There is a race ready for every size of talent .

The same factory of competition churns an immense saga and legends –The first bike, the first watch , the first PC , the first mobike ( my childhood was devoid of mobiles thankfully 😊 ) were all earned because of some epic competition ( as we were told..) . The reward and slogging has gone hand in hand since then – as the rewards got sweeter over a period and walks of life the efforts became herculean and more and more dogmatic. The result is a continuous hangover of this genetic trait - we overspeed, we skip the red lights, we break the queues, we rush for every little thing. Only to realize sometimes that all that haste is only a waste- God plans and decides everything for your efforts and sincerity 😊

A piece of secret advice: there is no competition in your whatsapp groups either - a single emoji replied with multiple emojis only show that you are vella – I am sorry no competition there 😉

Nothing comes easy and nothing comes free . Behind every aspiration there is certainly a lot of perspiration and what keeps you going is only competition. Competition has also been a fountainhead of improvements and evolution. We all love to steal a deal comparing the prices and fueling the competition . The chain reaction of competition like fusion or fission will make someone or break someone – New players keep joining the ring as we will keep moving from Forhans to Colgate , from Nirma to Surf Excel , from Lux beauty bar to now organic soap- competition certainly gives you choice and many reasons to rejoice – There are some who go for “ Value for Money” and then some only go for “ Value of Money” The more you spend the more you rejoice !! Who will deny the satisfaction you get when you fly “ Business Class” – We opt for the differentiated treatment while the destination and duration of the flight is same for all . As an analogy the lesser the competition the better you feel – Traffic on streets, waiting queues, food courts, beaches, malls and so many other places- You got to earn the Business class or extremely lucky in life to get a free upgrade – The C of Competition is the same that makes Circle of Life .

Anyways, its time that I gear up for a daily competition with myself – My wife has gifted me a fitness band – The demon sits on my wrist now 😊
